As a supervisor, it is critical to always do the right thing. Building your reputation of doing the right thing takes years, but it only takes seconds to lose.

Tips for demonstrating integrity in the workplace:

Demonstrate Responsible Behavior

Demonstrate ethical and moral behavior at all times. Doing this will ensure there is no reason for others to question your conduct.

Build Trusting and Respectful Relationships

Respecting the thoughts and ideas of others and continuously working on relationships demonstrates you are a team player.

Communicate Openly and Honestly

Using open and honest communication ensures people know exactly what is going on around them.

Admit To and Learn From Your Mistakes

Taking personal responsibility and admitting mistakes without placing blame on others will create an environment of trust.

Lead By Example

Set a firm foundation for what you value most and how you want to work. Seeing you work by the same standards and expectations will encourage others to follow suit.

Follow Company Policies

Company policies serve as an outline of how emplyees should work and behave to maintain alignment with the company vision. Avoid using shortcuts that will lead to bad decisions, problems, and mistakes that will need fixing.

Work Diligently

Focusing on your job responsibilities and following through on commitments will show your teammates, manager, and even customers that you have a strong work ethic.

"Do right, do your best. Treat others as you want to be treated."
