Valero strives to provide a safe and healthy work environment.

Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe equipment, practices, or conditions in a timely manner is critical.

When an employee is in an accident or is injured, the proper individuals need to be notified. It is important that you, as a supervisor, know what actions to take when your employee is in an accident/incident.

When An Accident/Incident Occurs:

  • Employee should report the accident/incident immediately to his/her supervisor.
  • If the employee is unable to report, personnel working with the employee should report the accident/incident immediately to the injured employee’s supervisor.
  • Supervisor must immediately notify local Human Resources (at all times).

Important

In the event of an accident after hours contact Human Resources. The call should be made immediately and no later than 24 hours of the incident.
